    GRANT FROM GOVT OF KERALA

    The Govt of Kerala  released a grant of Rs 10 lacs to SPIC MACAY Kerala chapter so that SM programmes can be held in several govt schools/govt aided schools all over Kerala.  Accordingly the Kerala chapter prepared a detailed  plan of implementation  and the Special Virasat was launched on 2 feb 2011 . The first prog was held at M.G.D High School , Kundra, Quilon Dist  and was inaugurated by Hon’ble  Education Minister  of Kerala Shri M.A.Baby.  While delivering the speech, he praised the services rendered by SM all over India to provide the youth of India a valued based education and also thanked SM Kerala chapter for being so vibrant all over Kerala. He hoped that the Govt of Kerala initiative will benefit every nook and corner of Kerala and SM will be able to give the govt school children a glimpse of our rich heritage.  Swami Viviktananda Swaraswati  Regional Head of Chinmaya Mission who is also the chairperson of SM Kerala Chapter graced the  occasion and requested continued support from the State Govt for SPIC MACAY  to spread the movement to all schools in Kerala
    As Pandit Ronu Majumdar was already doing a circuit in Kerala around this time the State took the opportunity of having his flute recital as the first prog under the Govt scheme especially  since the Hon Minister was present to start the scheme in Kerala.  The State Chapter has lined up several programmes in Feb itself to complete the project and have plans of circuit of Kathakali, Ottam tullal, Kudiyattam, Carnatic Music, Chau, Odissi/Gotipua  to cover the gamut of our heritage .
