Inauguration by Pt.Birju Maharaj and Pt.Rajan & Sajan Mishra

SPIC MACAY is starting its All India FEST 2009 series in Delhi and all over the country in over 300 cities from January till April 2009.In this series 1000 programmes will he held in Schools and Colleges.

The programmes in this series will mainly comprise of classical music and dance by eminent artistes like Pt.Shivkumar Sharma, Pt Hariprasad  Chaurasia, Pt.Birju Maharaj, Smt. Sonal Mansingh, Ust. Fahimuddin dagar, Prof. T. N Krishnan, Pt Rajan and Sajan Mishra, Smt Shovana Narayan, Smt.Ashwini Bhide, Ust Shahid Parvez, Pt.Rajshekhar Mansoor and others.

There will be a special VIRASAT in IIT Delhi from 18^th to 28^th February and a week long VIRASAT in Maulana Azad Medical College from 16^th to 21^st February 2009. The highlights will be performances by classical and folk artistes, Madhubani workshops and Films by Akira Kurosawa , Satyajit Ray and others.

The inauguration of Delhi FEST will be on 19^th January with recitals of Pt.Birju Maharaj (Kathak) & Pt Rajan & Sajan Mishra (Vocal) at 3 pm in Lady Shriram College, Lajpat Nagar. FEST series will continue till 29^th April and will conclude with a tribute to World Dance Day.

This series is dedicated to Pt.Ram Ashreya Jha and Shri Manjit Bawa and focuses on our composite heritage
