Category: News |17 CommentsIt is our pleasure to announce the commencement of scholarship scheme 2012.
Through the scholarship scheme SPIC MACAY makes an attempt to bring the students closer to a world of wisdom, inspiration, dreams, discovery and exploration. It brings them in contact with such dedicated and acclaimed people who have achieved a lot in their respective fields through the strength that comes from sheer hard work, discipline and inherent talent.
The Gurus are Us Fariduddin Dagar, Smt R.Vedavalli and Prof C.V.Chandrasekaran, Kalamandalam Gopi, Guru Ghana Kant Bora, Pt Birju Mahraj, Dalai Lama’s Monastery, ITC SRA, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Shri Rajendra Gangani, Swami Niranjananand Saraswati / Swami Satyasangananda (Bihar School of Yoga), Smt. Aruna Roy, Smt Anjolie Ela Menon, Shri Shivanand Hegde, Dr. N Rajam.
This year we are also planning a unique Gurukul Anubhav for some of the selected candidates as part of this whole plan, where we will take 5-6 prominent Gurus to an Ashram (Chinmaya Vibhuti) near Pune, to stay there with their selected candidates for one month. In the serene environment of the Ashram, spending exclusive time with their Gurus, candidates will get much elevated and intense experience. For this we will selected around 8-10 candidates for each Guru. Dr. Kiran Seth himself will be there to conduct the morning Nadyoga, Hathyoga and meditation sessions, which will start from 4 am till 8 am. I will also be there to oversee the conduct of whole plan. Expected Gurus for this exclusive plan will be: Shri Kalamandalam Gopi, Us. Fariduddin Dagar, Shri Dadi Padmamjee, Smt. Teejan Bai ji etc.
For submitting the application the candidate can use the above mentioned tentative list of Likely Gurus. To apply the candidate should send his / her profile, along with a one page write-up on “Why I want to go”. Candidates can download the form from our website (www.spicmacay.com) from Scholarship Scheme link. Selected candidates will be called for interview.
All final selected candidates for this scheme will have to furnish a bond of Rs. 5,000/-, which will be refunded after successful completion of the tenure.
The scheme will commence in the months of May, June and July, each candidate will be required to stay with the Guru for a month.

Rules and Regulations:
1. The scholarship entails staying with a guru for one month in summer. Travel expenses to and from the guru’s residence (Second Class Sleeper) will be borne by SPIC MACAY.
2. Applications screened for the interview will be informed by email / phone, following which they will have to present themselves at specified centers. Please note that travel expenses incurred for interviews will have to be borne by the applicants.
3. While the selection panel does its utmost to place the applicants with one of the gurus of their choice, this may not always be possible. In such cases, the decision of the panel in placing the student will be final.

Yes the age limit is from 14 to 26 year old. So you are quite young:)

I just wanna confirm that if this scheme is to conduct a competition between the students or is it to teach the students?

The scholarship scheme aims to provide a Gurukul like Experience (Anubhav) for students. The student live for a month with the guru and learn from them.

Dear Sir – a question for next time: is this scholarship scheme only open to students in India? (I am a student in London learning Hindustani Vocal since 3 years at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan London branch).

I am just a beginner and wanted to learn flute. Can beginners attend this camp? And if yes the dates are over for applying can we still apply for this?

It is not a camp at all. It’s a gurukul anubhav scholarship scheme, in which a candidate can stay with the guru in a gurukul like atmosphere for complete month. Be careful while reading:)
Yes a beginner can apply for the scheme but the last date of submission is over. You can apply next year. -

Does the canditate have to be bonafied student of a particular institution or college to apply or cna apply personally also? Do you also intend to conduct this scheme next yer as well? what is the last date of submitting the documents for The Gurukul anubhav july 2012…please reply…thank you
