No CommentsThe Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) Mangalore Chapter is organizing “VIRASAT 2011” series during August- November ’11. This is the annual series, comprising an eclectic mixture of performances by artists and workshops in folk and classical arts, literature, art and craft, talks, theatre, films and yoga, held across 40 educational institutions in Dakshina Kannada Region.
Some of the eminent artistes who will perform in this series are: Ranjani, Gayatri – Carnatic Vocal Duo, Dr Madan Gopal Singh – Sufi, Vedantam Venkatachalapathi – Kuchipudi, Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi, and Kalamandalam Mohanakrishnan – Ottanthullal.
The series is being inaugurated by Ranjani –Gayatri Carnatic Vocal Duo on Monday, August 22 at
Silver Jubilee Auditorium (SJA), NITK Surathkal
6:00 PM to 6:30 PM – Inauguration
6:30 PM to 8:00 PM – Concert by Carnatic Vocal duo Ranjani and Gayatri
Ranjani and Gayatri sisters are world renowned versatile musicians whose twenty five years of professional experience include studio recordings, television, radio, concerts, festivals and lecture demonstrations.
