Considering the reach of SPIC MACAY to various colleges and faculties of Delhi University, there is always necessary a mobilization of the authorized bodies in the university and the society for the betterment of both. Seeing the trend from sometime, Anilji and Aliji convened a meeting of principals of colleges and faculties of D.U. presided over by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Deeepak Pental. Dr. Ali introduced SPIC MACAY as a student movement which tends to repopularize Indian ways of the basics of the life; the society has been giving to the youth an exposure to various facets of Indian classical arts. Now is the time to bring structural reformation in education system .addressing the semiarid. Pental talked about need of looking for the truth or true knowledge for students, system for which is not seen anywhere in our educational institutions. For such a venture the attempts of SM have been expectedly successful and the reports predict rise in interest in Indian culture amongst youth, at least in DU .He emphasizes on the need of extraordinary ways of bringing learning experiences on campus, where pupil can work extra curricular and get a gurukul feel as well. Following this, Pranshu, secretary of SM, introduced the rationale behind the movement SM to the gathering.
In education ,SM is significant because it gives you experiences to identify right directions which in turn leads to all round development of the person.There,definitely,is a need to inform the youth about traditional values, and SM is offering that.
Coordinator of North Campus, Anilji requests people to help in implementation of new things this year which comprised of heritage course on a larger scale with practical lessons and more events including at least one overnight concept in one fest series.
College-Coordinator Gaeta then went on to speak about the chance that SM is trying to get. She requests the authorities to bring up well established chapters in their college and take new artists for their performances .As a response to which principal did discuss the possibilities.
Dr. Seth gave an overview of some hidden agendas of the movements.He, in his address request colleges to promote the spirit of voluntary involvement in students and developing an interested group to open chapters, for basic support the chapter should have liberty to hook-up with different clubs and do events, and also some money should be allocated. There are avenues for college to help SM.
Suchitra Gupta, from cultural council of DU, conversed with the group. The council tries to work with students and legends and maestros of the art forms to keep culture alive. It restricts itself to theatre; fine arts;ghazal choir;kavi sammelan ;etc.There were conversations about linking Cultural Council with SM also.
Whereas as an extension of SM’s events, theater workshop in DU was also thought upon.
While working out the plans for Sm ,one of the delegates , DR. Mithilesh Chaturvedi spoke about the ways of institutionalizing the functions of society in college. Replying to this, Dr. Pental strictly warned the authorities against trivial and non-prolific “micro-managements”, like confining the movement by keeping or non-interested staff advisor to the society .There is a need of keeping such things informal.
The informative congregation brought attention to a dying Mughal folk art from UP called Charpeth and also about the urgent requirement of exploration of the possible methods of deconstructing the Indian Classical arts and elementary research into education.
