    Sri Shounak AbhishekiShaunak Abhisheki, a leading vocalist of the young generation, is the son and disciple of maestro Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. He has also had training under Smt. Kamaltai Tambe of the Jaipur Gharana (school of music). He thus has a beautiful combination of both the Agra and Jaipur styles of Hindustani Classical Music.
    He has not only mastered the various technicalities of Classical Music but also gives equal importance to the lyrical content and the emotive aspects of a composition. Shounak‟s performance comprises not only of classical Music but also other aspects of Music like Tappa (light classical style of music from Punjab), Thumri (light classical songs with romantic and devotional lyrics), Bhajans (simple songs sung in praise of God), Natyasangeet (dramatic music) etc.
    Not only has he performed in all the major music festivals in India, but also for a series of concerts in USA, UK, USSR, the Arabian Gulf, Thailand, etc. He has been recorded by reputed Recording Companies. He also performs special programs like „Swarabhishek‟, „Tulsi ke Ram & kabir‟ and “Marathi Abhang-wani‟ based on his father’s compositions. In recognition of his talents, he has been awarded „Pune Ki Asha Puraskar‟, „Balgandharva Puraskar‟, and „Zee Gaurav Puraskar‟ just to name a few.
