    Padma Bhushan T.N.SeshagopalanPadma Bhushan Madurai TN Seshagopalan, the celebrated Carnatic musician was inspired by his mother‟s music and later learnt carnatic music under the tutelage of Shri Ramanathapuram C.S. Sankarasivan. He holds a degree in Music from the Madurai University where he served as the Professor of Music. As a multi-faceted artiste, he has also mastered the Veena and can play carnatic music on the keyboard and harmonium.
    Several prestigious titles have been conferred on him, a few of which include “Kalai Maamani” (bestowed by Tamil Nadu Govt.), “Sangita Kalanidhi” (by the Madras Music Academy). He is the recipient of the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award in 2004 by the Govt. of India. More than 50 music companies have released Seshagopalan’s cassettes and CDs. He has given numerous performances in the US, Russia, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Bahrain and Sri Lanka. He has a good hold over North Indian ragas as well and has given many Jugalbandhis with Ustad Rashid Khan.
    As a musical genius, he expounds the various ragas with profound intricacy and subtlety. He has always raised his audiences to dizzy heights during concerts with his breath-taking expertise in rendering all aspects of Carnatic music – Alapanas, Neraval, Kalpanaswara, Ragam-Thanam-Pallavis, Kirthanas, Thirupugazhs, Thillanas and ragamalika viruttams.
